  1. I have a Taurus that refuses to extract spent cartridges and want to send back for repair. Information technology doesn't say on the website how to do the bodily shipping. Exercise I take it back to the shop for them to process? I don't want to just walk information technology into the local UPS Shop.

Sad if this seems to be a stupid question. I simply take never had a trouble with a firearm before.

    Thanks

  2. Not a stupid question, just one that gets asked once a week (at to the lowest degree).

Returning a firearm to the manufacturer - THR

  3. What kind of Taurus? Ask the shop where you got information technology to ship information technology back for y'all. Otherwise the shipping price volition be outrageous.
  4. If one calls the manufacturer, sometimes they transport out a UPS or FedEx shipping characterization for you lot.

I believe that counts as "gratuitous".

The OP should call the factory and run across how they desire it shipped.

  5. I have shipped Rugers dorsum to the factory I had to send it FedEx over night.Icould trace it all the way to the mill through FedEX.
  6. If Taurus sends out a shipping characterization I would be shocked. They take poor client service, or from what my wife and I have seen...

This is FedexAl. Here's a link that can help you with any questions you lot may have about aircraft firearms through FedEx: http://www.fedex.com/us/service-guide/terms/limited-basis/
  8. When you send it, put it in the factory box, and then put the box in another box of dimensions equally close equally possible (they charge by size, besides), with wadded newspaper, bubble wrap or something to take upwardly the space. Non only will this give plenty of padding for the gun, but information technology has been my experience (not with Taurus) that the gun makers will send your gun dorsum in some other new box if you send it to them without one.
  9. Would be a good idea to wrap some packing cloth around the muzzle, to protect the crown and front sight, and to foreclose the muzzle from punching through the cardboard when the package is dropped.

Placing the whole firearm in a inexpensive gunsock would go a long manner to protect the blueing and stock finish from rubbing off in transit.

  10. Just have your FFL transport information technology. That would be $20 or and then vs. like $85 via fedex or UPS. A FFL can ship USPS, you cant.
  11. If the manufacturer won't provide a prepaid shipping label, this is a cheaper option.

    It'southward not legally required, though.

  12. No FFL is required to send 'back' to the manufacturer and so 'back' to you at home.
  13. Just my opinion, merely I'd take information technology to a local gunsmith first for an evaluation. Getting it fixed under warranty by the manufacturer is skilful, if they treat ya right. Simply if the shipping/waiting/BS factor is too much, it might be far less stressful/costly to just take a local guy fix it. Might be something simple and cheap. I'd rather pay a few bucks for a quick repair than pay overnight aircraft and wait weeks for my gun to come back. Worth a attempt.
  14. telephone call tauras they should ship yous a prepaid box they sent me 1 along with some replacement screws for my model 66 just incase i wanted them to instal information technology P.S you lot might have to phone call more than once to become someone willing to assistance merely when you lot practise they seem to go the extra mile for you.
  15. Accept an FFL ship it back as he can employ the Postal Service which is much cheaper than either UPS or FedEx.
  16. [♫ Let'southward sing it again, boys ♬]

    This is cheaper if:

The manufacturer won't provide a shipping label for yous (take you called and asked?)

Using an FFL to ship your guns isn't legally required (information technology's but "cheaper"). What are your freedoms worth?

  17. highlander v I just shipped a pistol by Fed-Ex: $18.95-ish.
